Founded in January 1913 and published by the Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Bureau, "Mongolian Vernacular Newspaper" issued a total of 18 phases in the period of 1.5 years. It was printed in a form of the combination of Mongolian and Chinese, which had multiple columns, such as picture, law, science, news, official documents, question and answer, novels, translations, miscellanea and theory. Publishing national guidelines, expounding the Central policies to Mongolian, advocating the "Republic of five nationalities" and safeguarding national unity were the main contents of the newspaper, while opening atmosphere, enlightening the people served as supplements. This paper is the first comprehensive analysis of all 18 phases of "Mongolian Vernacular Newspaper" and through studying its history, distribution range, creative team, column, published content and main points, we can find that the newspaper not only took great effect in instilling the concept of "Republic of five nationalities" concept and safeguarding national unity in Mongolian area at that time, but also popularized the knowledge of law, culture education, national economy and other aspects of knowledge and at the same time, it constituted a "Minority Language Newspapers" together with the "Tibetan Vernacular Newspaper" and "Hui Vernacular Newspaper", which was unprecedented in the history of national newspapers.
