In recent years, White LED gradually replace incandescent bulbs and energy-saving lamps as the main lighting equipment because of its energy efficiency, product life, low cost and so on. Visible Light Communications (VLC) is developed on the basis of LEDs that rapidly changing the strength of the Light to transmit information, which makes LED can be used to light as well as transmits information. For Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology, which can improve the channel capacity and transmission reliability without extra bandwidth requirement. So this thesis mainly studies the MIMO technology meet RF communications as well as VLC communications, below list the primary contents of this dissertation:Firstly, this thesis introduced the basic link types of the VLC systems. Moreover, we elaborate the basic links of the indoor optical system and structure of LOS and non-LOS. Through the simulation experiments analysis the distribution of light power at receiver, including direct path as well as ad diffuse path.Secondly, we detailed a traditional MIMO coding scheme, Generalized Space Time Shift Keying (GSTSK) encoding, which made a tradeoff between diversity and multiplexing gain. According to simulation, we presented and analyzed the BER performances of GSTSK with various parameters.Thirdly, a novel modulation scheme aimed for achieving high-rates MIMO systems is proposed, which is termed as 3-Dimensional Shift Keying (3-DSK). In the proposed 3-DSK scheme, the information bits can be mapped onto three distinguished information carriers, namely, spatial domain, matrix domain and signal dimension. Since having three information carriers, high throughout can be achieved. Moreover, this 3-DSK framework subsumes diverse existing MIMO arrangements. Finally, for 3-DSK coding scheme in VLC systems, we proposed four different coding schemes to satisfy VLC systems" requirements, where the transmit signal must be real and positive. Simulation results demonstrated the feasibility of four various coding schemes. In addition, we presented the BER performance of electrical signal at transmitter with diverse channel parameters.
