Displacement measurement is not only the most basic measurement, but also the most widely used in the modern industrial measurement technology. With the development of information science and technology, require for the measurement of displacement sensor become higher and higher. The current sensors of displacement measurement are mainly grating, inductosyn, magnetic grid, time grating and so on. However, these sensors can not unlimited increase the pole number in order to improve the measurement accuracy of the sensor. So this paper is designed to develop a new type of sensor based on the existing field-mode time grating according to the present issue talked above. Here is the main context following:(1) This paper introduces the theory of time-space coordinate transformation, taking advantage of the time amount to measure the time measurement. It also introduces the principle of single-tooth time grating and field-mode time grating.(2)This paper describes the wave equations of standing wave and traveling wave, which can be transformed each other on certain conditions. Double change factors come up based on the traveling wave principle of field-mode time grating. Emulating the principle model of time grating based on double change factors is to check and verify proved that it can increases the resolution of sensor to two times of the original without changing the number of poles through the simulation experiment.(3)According to the traveling wave of time grating and electromagnetic induction principle, the structure is designed by the processing method of PCB and the high frequency excitation signal circuit is proposed.(4)The signal processing circuit is proposed, which converts the traveling wave signal into the location information, and proposes some solutions about EMC of the system.(5)Make a research on the stability and precision of the sensor to improve the precision of the new sensor by analyzing the experiment data through the error correction.In summary, after analyzing the wave equations of time grating, time grating based on double change factors is developed based on electromagnetic induction principle. The resolution of sensor is increased two times of the original standard. Through the error analysis, we can point out the main factors which influence the precision of time grating sensor and optimize the mechanical structure. A new idea about time grating is proposed, which has great significance in both theory and reality to improve the measurement accuracy and promote the industrial development of time grating sensor.
