With the popularity of the graphical human-computer interface, the nature of human-computer interaction had changed into semantic interaction with the characters of the human-computer interface. Only when users understood the meaning of the characters correctly, could the goal of "harmonious human-computer interaction" and efficiency improvement be reached. And Chinese characters were different from both English characters and icons during human-computer interaction. Because of the interactive function, Chinese characters of human-computer interface had already transcended the category of ordinary Chinese words. The meaning of Chinese characters had become interactive meaning now, and a conventional dictionary could no longer describe it perfectly. In order to improve the usability of Chinese human-computer interface and the efficiency of human-computer interaction, it was necessary to tighten up the research of Chinese characters of human-computer interface. This thesis made a experimental study with 30 postgraduate students as subjects on the characters of the Industrial and Commercial Bank’s personal online banking login interface based on the semantic priming effect, and drew the following conclusions.Ⅰ. Under the general webpage using circumstance, users tended to think "user name" and "email address" as "login name". While under the online bank webpage using circumstance, users tended to think "account name" as "login name". Under different using circumstances, terms with similar meaning had different semantic distances. And the semantic distance between two words may be directional.Ⅱ. Subjects had higher accuracy rate in the category judgment test with terms that had stronger semantic relation, and they could have a better learning of the organizational structure of the interface when interacting with it. However, when terms with shorter semantic distance were divided into different systems, the user would be difficult to distinguish, resulting in decreased efficiency of interaction.Ⅲ. Terms with "verb-object" structure that reflect the interactive function could improve the efficiency of interaction. And terms with opposite emotional valence would impede the interaction.
