Since a long time, radar tracking as a basis for related research of external trajectory experiment, usually restricted by the different radars with different means of detecting and tracking method. With the development of new weapons, the target’s characteristics and performance has been a dramatic improved. This requires radar tracking system can adapt to the new characteristic of target. The test system on object tracking algorithms based on a model to radar noise-signal ratio. By deducing the radar signal to noise ratio model tracking algorithm, it can conduct pre-estimation and visualization timely for target tracking. The researchers learned that the measurement data of every moment before the actual measurement, and take effective measures to improve the system.This paper introduces the design of target tracking system, which under the background of pre-demonstration system project of the test scheme of exterior ballistic experiment. It introduces the basic features of radar and ballistic kinematics and introduces the basic features of ballistic kinematics and radar, and analysis of some parameters’characteristics with existing radar tracking technology, it can’t be measured accurately and has low testing precision. Therefore, the design of target tracking system based on a model to radar noise-signal ratio. The system is completed in the Delphi environment, and it has low costs, can display the results intuitively and concisely. The system has a correct judgment for its feasibility in practical engineering.In the process of research design, a radar tracking model based on radar noise-signal ratio can be established. Through the analysis of relevant technology of target tracking and basic form of radar equation, reached a lot of important parameters which affecting the radar tracking, it contains the distance to radar and target, the angle about radar and target and RCS etc. Through the conclusion of simulation, it can be concluded that the proposed method is effective, and using this method of radar tracking should able to display the target flying and target tracking accurately. At the same time, through analysis of parameters obtained for tracking method, it includes target tracking parameters and missile flight data, we can get the text data and basic software programming. Analysis the collected text date as the basis of software design. Finally, using Delphi development environment, realized the test system of target tracking ability on radar design. The processing software shows visual display, convenient operation, easy to operate, and has a simple data processing results. It includes missile flight trajectory and radar tracking status. This design can validate the feasibility of the scheme of radar test, and make a preliminary estimation to weapon testing system. The paper has practical significance for long-rang weapons tests platform.
