Bill Acceptor Design For Rail Traffic Automatic Fare System

Paper currency acceptor is a complex electromechanical integrated equipment, consisting of the control circuit, identification circuit and paper money transfer mechanism. It provides functions such as paper currency collecting, denomination identification, authenticity identification, pushing to the cash box or withdraw it. With the rapid development of China’s metro traffic, there is a rise of construction of metro traffic in major cities. Currently, the paper currency discriminating device of the self-service payment equipment in the area of metro traffic automatic fare collection is imported. However, this imported device is very expensive and the key technology is not owned. And China’s completely independent research and design of paper currency acceptor is still in its infancy. Therefore, independent research and design of paper currency acceptor is of great significance. The main researches are as follows:This paper presents a general scheme based on modular design. The whole system is divided into four modules:control module, identification module, cash box seat module and cash box module. Each module has an independent control circuit. Each circuit is an intelligent control system and has independent ARM embedded control software. Modules establish connections and work together to complete the overall functions via the serial communication interface.This system is designed for the identification and acceptance of the fifth set of RMB which is circulating on the market currently. Based on the demand analysis, the whole structure, data acquisition program are designed and the key device selection of the hardware is determined. On the software design, overall system is analyzed, using subsystem design ideas, front-back system design ideas, command distributed processing design ideas, unified engineering architecture design ideas and so on serial method of software design ideas. Paper currency recognition algorithm is based on the collected paper currency raw data of length, ultraviolet, magnetic, infrared. Each data represents the specific characteristics of the paper currency, based on this, design the appropriate template matching algorithm to recognize the paper currency.Based on the above design, the research and development of the paper currency acceptor is achieved. According to the test standards document, the test program, test processes and test cases are designed for the functional and performance tests. The test result shows that the system can effectively identify and receive the paper currency and meet the standard requirements.
