EM Based Space Mapping Optimization

With the rapid development of wireless and mobile communication, theproduction cycle becomes shorter and shorter. Therefore, electromagnetic (EM) basedoptimization technique should be improved in order to reduce production costs and toimprove the competitiveness of the enterprises.Some research on space mapping has been done in this paper. The methodnormally assumes the availability of an equivalent circuit as the coarse model. Thispaper addresses the situation when an equivalent circuit coarse model is not available.We propose a space mapping optimization algorithm with coarse mesh EM simulationas coarse model. And parallel space mapping optimization method has been proposedin this paper, which can speed up the optimization process.The research work of this paper mainly includes three parts：1. EM optimization using coarse and fine mesh space mappingThis part firstly introduces the EM coarse simulation and EM fine simulation,and then the realization of this method is explained. This method is illustrated by twomicrowave filters.2. Knowledge based coarse and fine mesh space mapping approach to EMoptimizationBased on the previous part, this part uses both EM coarse mesh simulation andderivatives to speed up the coarse and fine mesh space mapping.3. Parallel space mapping approach to EM optimizationIn this part, the parallel computation is introduced into space mapping to speedup the optimization process.
