An Intelligent Bus Info Acquisition And Analysis System Based On Car Networking

Bus plays an important role in urban traffic and the study of bus dispatching,arrival time prediction, passenger flow statistics and position location are always aresearch hotspot of smart traffic. What the citizens cares is not only about the positionof the bus,but also whether it is crowded in the bus. Along with the concepts ofInternet of Vehicles(IOV) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), there is a new fever of howto combine bus to smart trafficThis paper proposed an intelligent bus info acquisition and analysis system whichcombines USB camera with DM6467embedded development platform. This systemis set up at bus station and finalize Bus Recognition, BUS Tracking, Bus Route No.Recognition and Passenger Behavior Analysis. This system can both work by itself orwith other IOR technology, such as RFID, to form a networking and inform thecitizens the location of the bus and the degree of crowdedness of the bus.The main contents of this paper is:1. The hardware development is based on DM6467developing platform, and allworks,such as embedded environment developing,embedded video captureand display, are finalized on DM6467.2. All machine vision algorithms are firstly set up by OPENCV，includingfinalize recognizing bus by using the feather of the bus,tracking the bus withCamshift and limiting condition, recognizing bus route information,analyzingthe behavior of passenger and tell the degree of crowdedness in the bus.3. After all algorithms are tested on a realistic video,they will be transplanted toDM6467.
