Computer science and the World Wide Web is rapidly and dramatically changing theface of biological research. As the data of neuropeptide research become increasinglydiverse and format become increasingly cluttered, lead to biology learners and researchershave great inconvenience on neuropeptide information search and query, thereby reducingthe learning and research efficiency, therefore, professional management of neuropeptidedata resources is inevitable. Meanwhile, with the rapid development of Internet technology,user needs of service through the website system based on J2EE architecture is alsoincreasing. So, the neuropeptide database system based on J2EE came into being toprovide users with a range of services such as search and query neuropeptide information.After the study of the current situation at home and abroad, and research and analysison user needs, paper firstly expounds the theoretical study of J2EE multi-tier architectureand Struts2, Spring and Hibernate frameworks and summarizes SSH framework forintegration advantage, then discusses the RESTful Web Services and its supportingframework CXF with Spring’s integration and other related technologies. Secondly,according to the target of system development and the thought of software engineering,the paper discusses in detail the need analysis of neuropeptide database systems and itsdesign and implementation. Then is the system test, and finally summarizes the wholepaper and prospect on the neuropeptide database system.Neuropeptide database system uses SSH framework based on J2EE developmentarchitecture to make the structure of the system clearer, easier to expand and ensure theefficiency of the development. Meanwhile, system use communication framework CXFthat supports RESTful Web Services to perform Java remote communication q uickly andeasily. Database systems with Web-based interface, not only has the text messages, butalso with tables, graphs, and other ways to display the contents of the database, with a hypertext link, the user can search neuropeptides that they needed within a short period oftime on line and see its detailed information. The result showed that the project ofneuropeptide database system based on J2EE and providing RESTful Web Services isreasonable and feasible, and has a good application and development prospects.
