With the expansion of power system and the urban construction, thesecurity issue of transmission lines is becoming prominent increasingly.The main element of influencing transmission lines’ safety and stability isthe external factor, which threatens the people’s lives and power system’sstability. Therefore, we need a remote intelligent controlling and monitoringsystem urgently to monitor the transmission lines’ environment, timelyfinding the security risks, ensuring the transmission lines’ reliable andsecure operation.This paper made the following studies in regards to current status andshortcomings of transmission lines’online monitoring system.Firstly, this paper researched literature and existing programs and thendetermined the function of the system, applied C++language and softwaredesign pattern, established the software framework, and then researchedSQL databases based on this.Secondly, this paper researched and designed intelligent analysisalgorithm in regards to the special require of transmission lines’ videomonitoring system, including foreground detection, target recognition,target tracking and so on. At last, paper verified the feasibility and highefficient of the design through VS2010platform, and achieved intelligenttracking and detection of video images’large machinery.Thirdly, this paper researched circuit design of TI’s DM385IP cameraand image processing of DM385. Then the paper researched and selectedmonitoring terminal power supply system suitable for east China area,including equipment selection, circuit design, system installation andlightning protection design. After that, paper explored and validated the combination of4G network and wireless bridges in regards to the currenttransmission delay problem. Finally, installed and debugged the remoteintelligent video surveillance system in transmission lines, the results showthat the system is secure and stable, and also prove the practical value ofthe system.
