Enterprise Private Cloud Construction Methods Study And Practice

Cloud computing is a technological revolution in IT industry, has become a veryimportant direction of development of IT industry.In developed countries, such as United States, the research and exploration oncloud computing has been carried out for many years, and it has already formed anational strategy. Although the domestic cloud computing research work started late,and there are differences on strategic understanding of cloud computing betweenUnited States and other developed countries, China still has made a significantprogress, especially in the cloud-based products and operating system technologies,and cultivate a number of outstanding scientific and technological firms.Comparing to the traditional computing models, cloud computing has the inherentadvantages such as Flexibility, Agility, Cost Effective and etc., and it has increasinglybeen recognized by the majority of businesses and organizations. Therefore, itsdevelopment directions and trends are constantly explored by the whole industry anda variety of opinions and methodologies have been created, and each has differentperspectives and emphases.This paper will explore the private cloud construction methodologies and projectmanagement for enterprises. Several hot topics in the cloud industry are discussedhere, such as the relationship of cloud computing project management and enterpriseinformation technology, the key decisions of projects should be made for the cloudarchitecture, the cloud construction methods, the cloud maturity models andassessment processes, as well as the cloud security and risk management andsuggestions. At the end this paper will use a real cloud construction project as thepractical example to showcase the complete lifecycle project management processesfor cloud.Methods and ideas discussed in this paper are coming from both author’s dailywork contents and the actual situation of the customers the author servicing for. Theauthor intends to use it as a reference for the enterprise customers before or duringtheir private cloud construction, and is willing make a contribution for future researchand practice.
