Nonlinear signal processing of auditory perception has been the focus of thestudy of hearing, learning the nonlinear signal processing of hearing perception can helpto strengthen our understanding of auditory unique signal processing functions. Previouswork of Our laboratory research group has demonstrated the subthreshold stochasticresonance in hearing perception from the theoretical and experimental. The new theoryproposed by my supervisor shown that there is suprathreshold stochastic resonance insignal processing that have the time integrated,the new theory also believe that auditoryselective attention can be achieved by adjusting the parameters of the active effect ofcochlear outer hair cells.In this paper, we designed two experiments by usingpsychoacoustic experiment method, to research separately the change of hearingdiscrimination threshold intensity after plusing noise and the difference of auditorythreshold when attented and unattented.It was observed that the phenomenon ofsuprathreshold stochastic resonance that the noise improves hearing discriminationthreshold intensity,and the selective attention lowers hearing threshold.In the first chapter, we demonstrate the characteristics of hearing perception andthe content of this paper is to study, give an outline of the background of stochasticresonance in auditory perception and the mechanism of selective attention.In the second chapter, we demonstrate the theory of the first experiment:stochastic resonance and suprathreshold stochastic resonance.Specifically describes theexperiment that affect the normal hearing threshold of auditory discrimination whenadding white Gaussian noise.We analyse the result we get and draw figures. We prove thatthere is suprathreshold stochastic resonance in hearing perception.In the third chapter, we demonstrate the second experiment of this paper.First,wegive an outline of selective attention.Then we design the experiment to researching theissue of selective attention affecting hearing perception threshold.We analyse the result weget and draw figures.We prove that the mechanism of selective attention can lower hearingthreshold.The last chapter is conclusion.
