Research On Issues In Healthcare Data Analysis

Healthcare, is an important part of the social security system in our country. With the gradual formation of comprehensive healthcare systems and the increases of healthcare fund expenditures, the healthcare system is facing increasingly rapid growth of medical costs, uneven distribution of healthcare resources, and many other issues. With the gradual development of medical information systems and the rapid development of data analysis technology, people gradually realized the great potential value of the data to be mined. The problems in healthcare can be eased through analysis of healthcare data.The poor quality of healthcare data seriously affecting the efficiency and quality of health care data analysis. Disease coding is the process of transforming diagnosis names to standard ICD(International Classification of Diseases) codes, is one of the important steps of healthcare data preprocessing. Due to the huge amount of workload and the low efficiency of manual coding, it’s necessary to achieve the automation of disease coding. This paper presents a method for automated coding of disease. Specifically, we present ICD as documents with a text modeling approach, and then get the most relevant ICD code of a diagnosis name with the text correlation measure. The experiments proves that our method has a good accuracy, it’s very efficient and easy to switched among classification levels, could be widely applied to various types of data analysis scenarios.Irrational allocation of medical resources, resulting in the effective medical resources can not be fully utilized. Hospital visits is an important indicator of requirements for healthcare resources. Based on real healthcare data, hosipital visits series’ variation has been researched by time series analysis techniques. Analysis showed that the time series have significant seasonal fluctuations, and the seasonal fluctuations did not change significantly along with the rising trend of the series. By comparing the seasonal factors for healthcare areas with different health insurance policies, we have found that hospital visits series’s cyclical fluctuations are affected by healthcare year division method. Through the analysis of time series of hospital visits, we provide guidance on reasonable allocation of medical resources for healthcare resources, so could improve medical service’s equity and efficiency.
