The4G mobile communciation brings both opportunities and challenges for the operators to repick the markets again. At the iniotial stage of4G construction, the operators integrete2G/3G and4G networks to realize smooth conversion, thus interactions among2G/3G and4G are vital for the network integration in the future. This work mainly concerns on evaluation and optimization method about the interloperability among2G/3G and4G.Firstly, this work categories the scenarios and ananlyzes the key technologies of interactions among2G/3G and4G, according to the network characteristics of ChinaUnicom. Secondly, in order to make convenience for the following studies, we simplified the categories of2G/3G and4G networks interactions, and selected the typical CS Fallback (CSFB) procedures for further studies. The work focuses on each procedure of CSFB, which provides backgrounds and basis for the subsequent studies on capability reckoning and optimization of2G/3G and4G networks interactions.On the basis of simplifing the scenarios of2G/3G and4G networks interactions, the work proposes to establish the index systems for subprocedures. By defining delay and success probability, the work proposes statistical model and singleterm function model to reckon the capabilities of2G/3G and4G networks interactions. Meanwhile, this work validates the singleterm function model to verify its validity.The optimization mainly concerns on analyzing the users’ characteristics when CSFB terminates, utilizing queuing theory and stochastic process. The users’ characterristics are analyzed via mathematically analyzing the users’ services, namely, the intervals of data services are larger than its durations. The users with this characteristic can stay at3G network after the voice service terminates. The operators can set the terminals via network configuration or user guidance. Different residence stratigies can be set for different users to save network resource and overheads.By studying the capability reckon and optimization methods of2G/3G and4G networks intractions, basis can be provided for reckoning the service quality of core networks, and references can be provided for optimizing services of core networks.
