With the rapid development of communication technology and extensive application of smart terminals, traditional cellular networks can no longer meet people’s demand for high-rate data traffic. The most effective way to solve the above problem is to introduce the heterogeneous networks where some low power nodes (Small Cell) is deployed in the coverage of the conventional macrocells, which will enhance the capacity of the network through the cell division gain. Although the introduction of heterogeneous networks can enhance the network capacity in a certain extent, but the complex interfe ence environment in the network with new structure has restricted further growth of network capacity. So how to enhance the capacity of heterogeneous networks by means of effective interference management has become current research focus. This paper takes the interference management technology in LTE-A heterogeneous networks as the core. We do research on the ABS configuration technology and power control technology of base station, and correspondingly design the adaptive ABS configuration scheme and the optimization of macrocells’ transmit power. This paper first reviews the key technology and research progress of LTE-A system and heterogeneous networks, then the interference management techniques are studied, such as ABS configuration and power control. We propose the adaptive ABS configuration scheme which is based on the load of each sector. We establish the adaptive ABS configuration model, then provide the specific configuration process. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can configure the optimal ratio of ABS for each sector according to its different load, thus enhance the network capacity and fairness. After the adaptive ABS configuration scheme, the macrocells’power control algorithm based on non-cooperative game theory is proposed. Firstly, we establish the utility function of power optimization between the macrocell tier and the Small Cell tier, then differential evolution algorithm is used to solve the utility function, aiming at setting the optimal transmit power of macrocell during the ABS period. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can significantly increase the capacity and energy efficiency of the entire network, in the premise of ensuring the throughput of macrocell edge users and Small Cell CRE users.
