In recent years, with the dramatic increase in Internet users and the network bandwidth demand, the forwarding rate of network interconnection equipment is becoming higher and higher. As the incidents and threats of network security emerge in endlessly, the network data processing system based on analysis of network data, such as network anti-virus, network data content auditing and intrusion detection system, is facing huge challenges. It is of great significance to test the network security of the data processing system. To solve the problem of network security testing of the data processing system, we consider generating network traffic to test these systems. At present, a lot of traffic generation tools or software can generate large network data flow. But it is all difficult for them to construct large application protocol flow containing the specific content. As a result, they can’t well satisfy the test requirements of the network security equipment based on specific content detection. In this paper, the simulation system of network data traffic can simulate a user access to the internet over PPPoE or IPoE and the application scenario of IPv4/IPv6. It can simulate the user access to the specific network applications to produce large complete data traffic with specific content based on HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, DNS and other typical application protocol. Moreover, the system can also realize IPv4-IPv6access through the technology of tunnel, translation or agent, producing IPv4and IPv6network data traffic.Through the actual deployment of the test environment and a large number of experimental verification, this paper completed functionality and performance testing of the network traffic simulation system. The system can correctly generate HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP and DNS protocol data traffic with specific content.
