Coal is an important natural resources, which is a guarantee of social economy development and the quality of life of the people. With the development of coal industry, the coal resource exploration plays an important role in our national economy. And the gas explosion is a major disaster, which restricts coal mine production safety. Gas sensor is the first threshold methane detection system that charges with the task of gathering information. With the improvement of the dynamic characteristics of the sensor requirement, we have to consider the response time of the initial work of methane gas sensors. Catalytic gas sensor and semiconductor gas sensor are commonly used in the measurement of methane. In view of this, the response time of voltage for different types of methane gas sensor output values corresponding to initial concentration is very necessary.This paper firstly describes the working principle and the internal structure of the two common types of gas sensors in gas detection, which based on the physical mechanism of sensor, and gas sensors based STM32initial operation response time test system design process research. For gas sensor detect system hardware design is completed the data acquisition unit of the design collection platform based on STM32. Through the design of the software design of main program and data acquisition program code and the completion of the gas sensor test system software design, the date is received by SecureCRT7.0software and printed by SmartPrinter software. The two types of gas sensor output corresponding to concentration of work to voltage values take some time, which based on the gas sensors starting operating output voltage value.This research provides a good method for the design of gas sensor test system based on STM32, which achieve high-speed data acquisition, high efficiency, high reliability and easy operation. Study on the response voltage changes with time showed methane gas senor output corresponding to the concentration values need some time. Methane gas sensors start to work until stable output voltage in response to the delay time of study preparation program for improving sensor to enhance the sensitivity of the sensor to optimize methane sensor detection system is of great significance.
