The technology of wireless sensor network is a comprehensive application technology.With the improvement and extension of the location technology of wireless sensor network,this technology is getting more and more fully meet the needs of people’s daily life. Thewireless sensor network positioning technology is one of the important applications ofwireless sensor network technology, it has great research value. The positioning algorithm, inthe research of wireless sensor network localization technology, plays an important role.However, currently precision localization algorithm for wireless sensor networks is still nothigh enough, to be perfect. Therefore, the research on the positioning algorithm is verynecessary.In this paper, proposed an improved DV-HOP localization algorithm. Improved DV-HOPpositioning algorithm, mainly consists of three stages: the first stage is the self-organization ofthe use of sensor nodes, average hop distance calculation between the various known nodes;the second phase of the task is a modification of the first phase of the acquired average hopdistance.; the third phase of the work is the use of the modified average hop distance todetermine the distance between known and unknown nodes, then trilateral position calculation,and ultimately determine the unknown node coordinates. The improved DV-HOP localizationalgorithm reduces the distance error between known and unknown nodes. Therefore, throughthe three side positioning method calculated more accurately.This paper makes simulation experiments for two kinds of DV-HOP positioningalgorithm the, experimental results show that: the positioning accuracy of two DV-HOPpositioning algorithm, are decreased with increasing number of nodes and the communicationradius of the known. But in the process of reducing the error in DV-HOP positioning algorithm,improved DV-HOP positioning algorithm compared with before, both the lower magnitude inerror, or in the positioning stability, all reflect the superiority.In this paper, the ultimate proof of the improved DV-HOP localization algorithmcompared with the previous algorithm, the error has been effectively reduced.
