With the development of information technology and automation technology, industrial control field in our country is finding wider and wider application of automation control system, with the aid of automation technology, to improve the production efficiency in the field of industrial production in China, promote industrial enterprise economic benefits have very important role. In China’s petroleum and chemical industry, automatic control technology has been widely used, especially based on modern control theory and advanced control theory, on the basis of artificial intelligence for the petrochemical enterprise development provides a strong development momentum. Fundamentally, the control strategies of advanced control is a kind of unconventional, its main application to use conventional method to obtain the effective control of industrial production process control system. In the process of oil production, a kind of common raw material separation process, namely the light hydrocarbon fractionating process, in the process of the light hydrocarbon fractionating device operation and control to a great extent, affects the energy consumption of petrochemical enterprise and the product quality, must attach importance to it.Therefore, this paper takes a company of light hydrocarbon pre fractionation automatic control process as the research object, using the advanced control theory, discusses the optimization and the technology and measures of improvement. This article reviews the theoretical literature at home and abroad firstly advanced control and light hydrocarbon fractionation of automatic control, on the basis of understanding the technological process of light hydrocarbon fractionation unit, points out its typical features are of long process, more interference factors, the big lag, strong coupling relation, based on the advanced control strategy, to control the basic discussion of prediction model; after using APC-Adcon Robust Multivariable Predictive advanced controller architecture of software design, the design objectives, strategies and programs for advanced control light hydrocarbon fractionation; finally set up the hardware and software platform, the APC-Adocn controller is applied to the light hydrocarbon fractionating tower system was carried out on the application, and the application of the effect was evaluated.By the study, can not only enrich the automatic control aspects of the research results at home and abroad on the advanced control theory and light hydrocarbon fractionation; and toenhance the stability of the overall operation of the fractionating tower, improve productquality, reduce the fractionation process energy consumption has not the actual meaning isoften important.
