According to The31st Internet Development Report from CNNIC, by the end of2012, the number of Internet users in China reached564million, and the Internet penetration rate got to42.1%. Along with the development of the Internet, the amount of information carried by the Internet is in rapid growth. On the one hand, the information resources of the society are greatly enriched. On the other hand, it is difficult to get the effective information that users need. The problem is not only from the obtainable information which are not professional and not targeted, but also from the difficulty of access to areas of expertise through those limited channels.In this situation, the China Media and Social Research database comes into being. This database upholds the concept of "Polymerization, Sharing, Interactive, Cooperation", building a professional database in media and social research field-completely free to use. The China Media and Social Research database is based on uploading to collect data. Moreover, we focus on building a new academic database with the basic functions such as upload and download data, and social interaction. Therefore, the database has good academic information search capabilities as well as an excellent user experience. The database will be built to provide users with rich knowledge of Chinese media and social studies, in order to improve the utilization of information resources, to achieve efficient sharing of knowledge resources within the scope of the whole society.
