A set of large mail sorter’s system of package checking and real-time processing is jointly developed by Northeastern University Equipment Diagnosis Engineering Center and postal department. As an important component of the project, a set of electronic nose fast identification system is developed by comprehensive scheme design of various sensor array, airflow control, time-sharing control, program realization and so on, which combined with the needs of science research project. It realized0.5s identification requirement for packages which exist a certain degree leakage during postal online sorting, It cooperates with X-ray identification technique for liquid chemicals for testing, enriches system of package checking and real-time processing in practical application and is worth to be applied.On the basis of elaborating electronic nose situation at home and abroad and key technology, the need of rapid recognition system for electronic nose is systematically analyzed in this paper.First of all, based on the working principle and structure characteristics of electronic nose, in this paper, a complete set of odor identification hardware system of electronic nose is built by means of evaluating,selecting and installing gas sensor, the data acquisition card, axial flow fan and miniature pump and so on. The odor identification software system of electronic nose was developed by Visual c#program language. It realized data incepting, data processing, giving an alarm, inquiring and so on. Then, the cabinet of airflow is simulated and calculated by using Fluent software. The result of analysis described characteristics of motion of airflow in the cabinet.It can provide reference information for controlling airflow and selecting and installing hardware equipment so as to improve the response and recovery time of electronic nose.Technically, the feasibility of electronic nose rapid recognition system is explained. According to the problem of electronic nose longer recovery time and the results of experiment, a kind of idea that takes two groups of electronic nose for alternating detection is proposed in this paper. And corresponding control circuits are designed. Finally, the several material are recognised by neural network of MATLAB toolbox. Finally,the system is tested. The results showed that the correctness of design.A new attempt, which comprehensive implementation plan used in postal security research, is proposed in this paper.
