Engine is the power section of the plane,and it is also the heart of the palne.The performance of the aeroengine affects the fate of the whole plane directly. Borescopic inspection is one of the most effective means for interior surface defect inspection of the aeroengine.In the past,the borescopic detection of aeroengine was mainly carried out by artificially inspection.Human experiences were required to make the fault decision.So the detection errors can appear due to the human factors,and also detection difficulty can appear. With the development of image processing and computer vision,the new borescope detect method based on vision technique emerge as the times require.Aiming to solve the defections of artificially inspection method,this paper analyzed the characteristics of aeroengine defects and the defects evaluating process,and then studied the borescopic inspection process by applying Digtial Image Processing technique.Firstly,the images of engine hole explore are enhanced.And then,the images are segmented by using classical methods on the bases of the image enhancement.The Otsu segmentation method and regional growth method are improved to insure the optimal effects of the segmentation of the aircraft engine hole explore image.Finally, the aero-engine hole explore image is simulated based on Matlab7.0software platform.The research of the subject can help to improve the hole-detection technique of civil aeroengines, which means much to the modernization of civil aviation.
