Video communication is becoming a hot spot of the current application. Because of the highcompression ratio, high quality of pictures, strong fault tolerance and network adaptability, H.264has been widely used in video coding compression. Due to the openness of networks and artificialattacks, video transmission is not secure. Because of the complexity of new technologies and theadded encryption algorithm, the real-time transmission of the video can not be guaranteed. So wehave to optimize the performance of the original algorithmFor real-time transmission, we analyse the coding structure of H.264and learned thatintra-prediction and inter-prediction are the most complex process in the entire coding process. First,we make pre-judgement against I44and I1616. Then, we classify the9modes of I44, ruducethe mode selection range and reduce the mount of conputing. The same principle used ininter-prediction. Finally, we test the encoder. The result showed that the code rate has improved andat the same time the quality of the video has been ensured. In connection with the security of videoinformation, we analyze the encoding performance and the structure of H.264, and we decide to useAES to encrypt the related coefficients to make the signal safe. Order to improve the encryptionefficiency, meeting the real-time and security requirements, the DC coefficients of the video I-frameand the DC coefficients of modules I in B frame and P-frame have been used for encryption. Theexperimental results show that the used method not only encrypt less data, reduce the complexity ofthe algorithm, to ensure that the real-time, but also ensure the safety of the video. Finally, thealgorithm is tested on omap4430. The experimental results show that the performance of real-time and safety allmeet the requirements.
