Ultra-wideband wireless communication has become one of the research hotspots in the field of wireless communications because of its high data-rate, strong penetrability and low transmitted power. Study on the propagation characteristics of UWB signals in complicated indoor environments has important value in theory and practice. The multipath propagation characteristics of UWB in complicated indoor environment are researched based on TD-UTD. And the propagation characteristics such as path loss, power delay profile, power space profile, delay spread are simulated and analysed considering transmission mechanism.The theory foundation for the planning and optimization of UWB wireless communication systems is provided by above results. This thesis is organized as follows. The contributions of thesis include:(a) The propagation characteristics of UWB signals in indoor environments and research status in channel modeling are introduced. At the same time, the basic theory of TD-UTD is explainted; and the time-domain transmission coefficient is deduced in detail based on the electromagnetic field theory.(b) The propagation environments in published literatures are simulated and analysed in complicated indoor environments considering transmission mechanism. By the comparision between the simulated results and the measured results that in published literatures, the accuracy and effectiveness of the TD-UTD are validated to study the propagation characteristics of UWB signals in indoor complicated environments.(c) The propagation characteristics of UWB signals are studied in indoor home environment. Propagation path and path loss are obtained by simulation. And power space profile, power phase profile and power delay profile are predicted. As a key to study the propagation characteristcs in indoor home environment, the influence on received power is diccussed in considering different transmitted times. And the best transmitted times in simulation is suggested.(d) The propagation characteristics of UWB signals are studied in indoor office environment. The received power and the delay spread are studied considering different transmitted times and different wall materials. Meanwhile, received power and delay spread are researched in Line-of-sight environment and None Line-of-sight environment respectively.
