With the rapid development of online shopping, more and more goods are frequently exchanged between people. Some people consciously or unconsciously, mail some contraband goods, in case of a missed or wrong check, which will threat to the people’s security and national security, therefore Diagnostic Equipment Engineeing Center of Northeastern University on the basis of the important project which the national important ministries issues research and design a new generation of security system (ZD system). In this thesis, X-ray security detection information and electronic nose gas (liquid) detection information of the ZD system are studied to test the object.First of all, the paper introduces the x-ray detection technology and electronic nose basis. Secondly, the paper introduces the X-ray classification of substances. Thought that the basis of effective atomic number, the material is divided into organics, inorganics and mixtures, and the classification accuracy of the material is improved by dual-energy technology. By experiment such as aluminum, iron, water, kerosene, X-ray fitting curve of substances are obtained; volume for aluminum and iron is forecasted by using X-ray attenuation theory, thus the dangerous position is marked. The electronic nose gas (liquid) detection system is designed and set80mv warning value in order to alarm the risk of gas (liquid). The five different packages are tesyed by using the information fusion system to judge dangerous goods.The project made a better innovation in the traditional security equipment. It combined the X-ray detection technology and odor identification technology of the "electronic nose" and successfully apply to the field of object detection, which realize the combination of the multi-information and make accurate judgment of goods on the security, so it solves the problem that traditional security instrument for liquid detection is not accurate. The combination method of odor identification of the "electronic nose" and X-ray detection technology applied in the safety detection device is the first in domestic research of this field so that the ZD system can be used in the engineering.
