IP MAN Routing Technical Research Of Optimization Retrofit Scheme On Kunming Telcom

IP metropolitan area network which is an important part of the Internet and generally covers acity, is mainly to achieve customers’ access to the Internet. It provides customers with various typesof data services, and completes the IP business hosting. Main services of Kunming Telecom, suchas broadband, ITV, and voice services, are loaded by IP metropolitan area network.To promote multi-business carrying capacity of Kunming Telecom’s IP metropolitan areanetwork, to response the arrangement about speeding broadband networks of our nation, and toimplement the requirements of group company, Kunming Telecom decided to carry out theoptimization the routing of IP metropolitan area network.The size of metropolitan area network in Kunming is almost an oversize one. According tothe routing standardization of IP metropolitan area network, Kunming’s IP metropolitan areanetwork, hosted network and users’ routing via ISIS+iBGP. Currently, the main routing method ofIP metropolitan area network in Kunming is OSPF routing. Because of the increasing of users andthe demand of multi-services, the performance and scalability of existing routing control level arestarting to emerge. After transforming, ISIS only carries equipment interconnection link routing. Itsnumber is relatively fixed, and has advantages on basic IP network’s rapid convergence andstability. For the inherent carrying capacity of iBGP routing protocols and the more routing policycontrol method, it becomes possible to provide users differentiated routing services.The related concepts, characteristics and applicability analysis of three network routingprotocols, OSPF, ISIS, BGP are studied in this paper. Current network structure, service types andprotocol model of IP metropolitan area in Kunming Telecom areanalyzed. In view of the features ofthis three types of routing protocols. Feasible transiting technical solutions among protocols areformulated according to characteristics of Kunming Telecom’s IP metropolitan area network andthe research of status quo.Select routing reforming pilot within the IP metropolitan area network inKunming and put forward the corresponding solutions of the problems emerged in the process ofthe reforming pilot.Finally, the research on routing modification technology of IP metropolitan areanetwork is summarized.
