Methane Detection System which is high precise and sensitivity is imperative inindustrial production and environment monitoring. Tunable Diode Laser AbsorptionSpectrometry has higher selectivity, higher sensitivity and faster reaction speed,compared with the traditional detection method. And it has been a main researchdirection for gas detection.The theoretical foundation of Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectrometry iselaborate analyzed. The wavelength modulation and harmonic detection technologyare analyzed in theory. It validated the feasibility of the methane detection system.The methane detection system is designed on the basic of the spectrumabsorption characterization of methane gas and Tunable Diode Laser AbsorptionSpectrometry. Design of the laser diode driver circuit, air chamber, photoelectricdetector and preamplifier circuit is introduced in detail. The system is controlled byARM. And the software design of each functional module is finished.The paper presents a new algorithm based on sliding average method and pulseinterference average method.The detection sensitivity and detection precision is received based on theexperimental result. And the effect which is affecting the performance is analyzed indetail.
