With the development of wireless access technologies, ubiquitous network is evolving along thedirection of ubiquity, heterogeneity, mobility, convergence and multi-terminal collaboration. Inubiquitous network, the demand on high throughput service from mobile users is increasing rapidly,and single wireless access technologies have become a constraint factor. Therefore, the cooperationbetween multi-terminal and multi-network is needed to enhance link speed and improve users’experience. To support these, the thesis is to design and implement a mobility management systemfor multi-terminal collaboration based on heterogeneous networks, which can provide good supportfor the business of multi-network collaboration, multi-terminal collaboration and multi-streamservice to enable network resources fully utilized.The main work in this thesis is shown as follows:1) The whole design scheme of mobility management system for multi-terminal collaborationbased on heterogeneous networks is proposed, which includes two parts: server software of gatewayand client software of Android mobile terminal.2) Hardware platform and software platform of the gateway server are built. An ARM11development board is used as the core hardware platform, which is equipped with3G module,WLAN bridge and ZigBee node. And the embedded Linux operating system is selected to build asoftware platform. Linux kernel, hardware drivers and software tools need to configure and port.Then, the design of functional modules of the mobility management system and the design of itsinteraction protocol are finished.3) Based on the design of functional modules of the gateway server software, its functions areimplemented, including the registration of mobile terminal, the update of environmental context, thestatus control of access terminal and the transmission of sensor data.4) Android system is used as the development platform for the client software of mobileterminal, and the smartphone is used as the test machine. Then, the client software is designed andimplemented.5) The mobility management system for multi-terminal collaboration based on heterogeneousnetworks is fully tested. The test results show that the system fulfills the requirements and is stable.
