Radio frequency identification(RFID) technology was born in the1930s, which was mainly formed by the radio broadcast technology and radar technology in its initial stage. With the development of RFID, and technical level becoming more mature, the technology is widely used in many fields such as logistics management. RFID technology is widely used in many fields such as logistics management, and create billions of revenue each year. In recent years, the research of RFID technology combined with other sensor technology has been more and more popular, which will undoubtedly broaden the application areas and functions of RFID technology. In this paper, it discusses the UHF RFID tag antenna used to monitor the ambient temperature. Firstly, it introduces the working principle, development status and challenges of RFID systems, the important parameters of tag antenna design, measurement methods of RFID tag antenna, and the working principle and the characteristic curve of the temperature sensor. Then, it discusses the effect that temperature sensors brings to the performance of dipole antenna structure, and verify the feasibility of the program. By comparing the simulation aspects of S-parameters and the input impedance curves, etc. Finally, this paper shows two different chips respectively matched the tag antenna structure with the temperature sensing function, and the simulation on the performance analysis is carried out. It is mainly focused on open stubs and minor double loop antenna structure design, using PCB processing technology with short production cycle for processing. The simulation results at room temperature are that S11is-21dB, the gain-3.5dB, and reading distance7m and the tag antenna structure with the temperature sensing function completely works on the North American UHF band.
