As a new sensing technology, optical fiber sensing is widely used in various fields with many advantages such as anti-electromagnetic interference, anti-corrosion, long distance sensing, etc. Based on the research achievement that has been made by our laboratory researchers, the article reserached and implemented an integrated sensing system platform. The platform is based on the theory of raman scattering and used to measure temperature of optical fiber. The system has the advantage of distributed, long distance sensing, easy to be implemented. The article divided the whole software system into two seperated sub-systems as local terminal and remote terminal based on the C/S architecture. The local terminal acts as server while the other acts as client. Local terminal program is run in an embeded platform called OMAPL138which contains both an ARM and a DSP and is conneted to underlying hardware to achieve data acquiring. ARM controls the acquisition timing and manages every function modules. The remote terminal program runs on PC platform and it’s responsible to receive temperature data from network sent by local terminal and show them on UI interface. Typically, the remote terminal includes a GIS map module to show the distribution of optical fiber and locate the position of alarm. At last the article designed some test cases to do the integration testing of the whole software platform. In addition, a solution of updating program online is given and implemented.
