With the development of the information-based society, the internet-age is coming everywhere. With the rapid development of computer storage technology and the growing number of users, the importance of data becomes more and more prominent. As a way to ensure data integrity, data disaster recovery technology has been widely accepted by enterprises and other units. Through a secure and efficient data disaster recovery technology, we can protect the valuable information and data stored in computer from a disaster.In this context, this paper at the first introduce the basic concepts of disaster recovery technology, then have made a detailed description of the traditional data disaster recovery technology; according to the shortcomings of the traditional data disaster recovery technology, the CDP technology is introduced. CDP (Continuous Data Protection) is a method, first of all it can capture or track data changes, and then store the new data independently, to ensure that data can be recoverd to any point in the past.Through the CDP technology research, this paper found the need of file-based CDP systems research. Through the study of ordinary file-based CDP system, the shortcomings for improvement in ordinary file-based CDP system is found; then the key technology for file-based CDP system is introduced in detail; proposed the file system filter driver and an improvement for core algorithm of Rsync based on the content-based chunked algorithm. After the research of the file-based CDP systems, the design and implementation of a bi-backup file-based CDP system based on differential-data-backup is presented. The system uses a file system filter driver to operation intercepted, uses an improve core algorithm of Rsync based on the content-based chunked algorithm to calculate the differential data.The main features and contributions of the bi-backup file-based CDP system based on differential-data-backup is as follows:1. Achieve a bi-backup; solved the problem of backup data corruption;2. Achieve an improvement for core algorithm of Rsync based on the content-based chunked algorithm.3. Combined the two data recovery method:based on operation-reproducible and based on differential-data-backup.
