With the development of network, the size of the network keeps increasing, and network business tends to have an explosive growth. In order to meet the demand of the network service, future network should have three features, such as full-service, high-capacity and adaptive. This drives the generation and development of SDN (Software Defined Network).SDN separates the control plane and transport plane, which solves the incompatible problem caused by the different switching equipments. In SDN structure, the controller provides unified interface to the applications in upper layer, and different kinds of applications could dynamically add or change network strategies based on its own needs, which could add the flexibility of the network.This thesis explored the uniform control mechanism of SDN network based on OpenFlow protocol, and creatively put forward the new view in the next three sections:First, thesis proposed a uniform control mechanism for heterogeneous network based on extension OpenFlow protocol. In this project, I have designed NOX and Switch modules, set up the platform and fulfilled the functions, such as communication between different facilities, dynamic bandwidth allocation adjustment and adding Bypass strategy.Second, in order to optimize the network resource, this thesis has put forward a kind of cross layer control architecture for IP over WDM networks based software defined networking. The simulation result shows that the novel strategy could increase the resource utilization and reduce the energy consumption compared with traditional Bypass strategy.Third, on the issue that Controller would be prone to attacks, this thesis proposed a strategy for SDN controller protection. This strategy has designed a coupling structure of Controller and Switch, which could cause the system structure flattening. This would reduce the network dependence to single Controller, recovery network faster and ultimately increase the reliability of the network.
