Wireless CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) is a kind of wireless terminal access equipment with the capability of accepting wireless network signal. It is a substitute for wireless card and other wireless client devices. It is a new type of wireless terminal access equipment and can receive wireless signal of a wireless router, wireless AP, of wireless base stations, etc. CPE applied to the wireless internet access in the countryside, town, hospitals, units, factories, community areas and so on. It can save the cost of laying cable network.CPE can be managed in three methods:AC manages CPE directly; FAP manages CPE directly; Fit AP manages CPE in the local forward mode. Interconnection between CPE and AC/AP need the basic information of the CPE equipment, and CPE can report them to AC/AP. After establishing a connection, CPE need to upload information bout the IP address, statistic running-information, command execution results and so on. There are no corresponding standards to rule the information-transmission between CPE and AC/AP. So need to design a set of private protocol between AC/AP and CPE. The protocol should provide lightweight management to CPE and the function obtaining appointed information and statistic running-information of CPE.This paper focuses on the direct management that AC to CPE directly for the IP address, statistic running-information and command execution results after CPE has connected AC successfully in centralized forward mode.The basic information, statistic running-information and command execution results of CPE are packaged to action frame of management frames according to the result of development team’s discussion.CPE sends management frames with its own information to AC, when it needs connection with AC or has connected with AC. In the meanwhile, AC parses the receiving frames and storages information it needs. Users can query that on the AC through command line. The maintenance management of CPE function is only used for internal staff. Design is to minimize the user interface, and reduce the users’perception of function and the impact on the existing system.First of all, this paper introduces the history to the development of wireless local area network. Then simply analyses the basic concept of802.11protocol, logical structure and topology structure of the wireless local area network and the structure of management frames. In addition, the software development model, project development platform and so on are also introduced in this article. The process oriented analysis and design method are used in this paper. Under the guidance of V-model of software development, from the system analysis, requirement analysis, general design to detailed design, requirements analysis and module design are propelled step by step. At the end of this paper, unit testing and system testing focus on parse and storage to management frames are introduced in detail.
