The purpose of this thesis is single image interpolation, brightness conformity adjusting and multi-frame interpolation for the space motion image sequences. There are low image resolution, target blur and inconsistent brightness problems in space motion image sequences processing. The thesis solved these problems from the perspective of trans-scale. The main works of this thesis are as follows.(1) The thesis proposed a new single image interpolation algorithm based on salient area detecting. The image was divided into different areas depending on detail information. By calculating the entropy of the image area, the image regions are filtered. We applied algorithms with different accuracy and complexity to different areas. Then we merged processed areas into a whole image. The proposed algorithm ensured not only the smoothness of the interpolation results, but also results with clear edge.(2) The thesis studied the trans-scale brightness adjustment method for image sequence which adjusted the brightness from two scales, the shading degree and color deviation. The thesis proposed an image brightness conformity adjusting algorithm based on histogram matching. We calculated the similarity of the histogram of adjacent frames in image sequences and adjusted the latter frame histogram vector until the two adjacent frames had the maximum similarity. It has increased smoothness and reduced noise.(3) The thesis proposed a frame interpolation algorithm based on redundant patch matching including improved matching criteria, searching strategies, searching parameters and auto determining number of iteration in motion estimation. The image was divided into overlapping patches which can increase the amount of corresponding pixels for each point while motion estimation. We encoded image patch to accelerate the matching process and to improve the accuracy. Then we determined the search range and iteration times by the intensity of the moving target. The proposed algorithm has increased objective indicators and better visual effects.(4) The thesis developed an experiment platform. In the end of this thesis, an experiment platform was developed to verify all the proposed methods. The platform provided us a convenient way to deal with images and evaluate the results.
