Network coding through signal processing in relay nodes, make it possible to achieve maximum flow of the network, and improve network performance. So network coding technology in the last decade has been a hot academic topic. Device to Device (D2D) technology is a supple-ment to the cellular communication system, but also one important part of the future tiered heterogeneous networks. Network coding in D2D communication could enhance the performance and save resources for the system. How to apply cooperative network coding technology in D2D communication is also a promising topic. The paper designs collaborative user network coding and collabora-tive relay network coding schemes for D2D communication. Numerical simulation results show that the use of network coding can improve per-formance. Based on the traditional complex field network coding, we proposed an improved complex field network coding scheme. The simu-lation shows that the proposed scheme can effectively reduce the block probability compared with the traditional scheme. After giving a brief introduction of collaborative communication, D2D communication and network coding schemes, the network coding in D2D communication was analyzed. Then we give a method to illustrate how D2D communication reuses the uplink resource of cellular commu-nication systems. Then algorithms are put forward to select relay in D2D communication in order to ensure throughput and security of mobile communications.Last, we built a LTE/WLAN hybrid network hardware demonstra-tion platform. In this platform, two-way relay network coding scheme and multiple access relay network coding scheme was demonstrated. Com-pared with the scheme without network coding, the network coding scheme could save time for the users and frequency resources for LTE systems.
