Analysis On The Investment Management Of China’s Broadcasting And TV Network Companies

China’s broadcasting and TV network (BTN) companies, as a result of their short history, have limited investment fields and methods. With the development of integration of three networks, the pressures of competition and innovation faced by BTN companies have been more tremendous. The situation has also happened in the investment area. Investment, which is a necessary way for companies to extend business and gain profit, has been accepted by all the BTN companies. Because of their history of spinning off from the government system and their public attributes, there are plenty of potentials in the management of BTN companies’market investment activities.Equity investment is the main method undertaken by BTN companies. BTN companies should control the key business of the upstream and the downstream of the industry chain through equity investment. In this way, the companies are able to grasp the development trend of the industry. Besides, with the enrichment of the investment methods, BTN companies can planned take new method to set foot in more investment fields. As for the after-investment management, although current BTN companies have the ability to manage their investment, more standardized process and more professional after-investment management system are required to help companies to make correct decisions.Firstly, this dissertation introduces the background and related previous researches of BTN companies. Meanwhile, theories of investment management are also explained in this part. Secondly, according to the analysis on the entire process of BTN companies’ investment management, the fundamental problems, which hamper the investment management, can be detected from current management situation. In next part, these problems will be analyzed and the reasons resulting in these problems will be found out. By doing this, several tactics will be proposed to reduce or prevent similar problems. Since, the tactics should consist with the situation of particular company. Therefore, Ge Hua You Xian (GHYX) will be taken as an example to make further induction. Based on the analysis about the problems of investment management met by GHYX, particular tactics will be proposed in this section. The dissertation tries to offer new ideas and effective support to the investment management of China’s BTN companies, and help them to achieve the objectives of strategic investment and profit investment from the investment management.
