The Research Of P2P Botnet Based On IPV6

After several years of development,the IPv4Internet has achieved great success. With the development of Internet and IT, more and more people have access to the Internet. However, the design of IPv4technology is imperfect. Since the year of1990s, experts in related fields started the IPv6plan to replace IPv4technology.IPv6have been regarded as the next generation Internet protocol. IPv6was presented by IETF in1994. The design of IPv6technology learned many lessons in the construction of IPv4network. So IPv6has made a number of improvements relative to IPv4. As the last batch of IPv4addresses has been allocated in2011, the deficiency of IP address will severely limit the development of the Internet. The construction of IPv6network will enter into a rapid development period. However, in the construction of IPv6network, the problem of safety can not be overlooked. Network security has always been the focus of research.In the technology of network attack, botnet is a very efficient one. The original botnet was based on IRC, and gradually developed into a structure of P2P.Combined the development of IPv6with botnet technology, this paper holds that in the IPv6Internet era, P2P botnet is still a serious threat to the Internet. So before mass adoption of IPv6technology, it is necessary to do more study of IPv6-based botnet which base on P2P and summarize relevant mechanisms of botnet. In the research process of this paper, we firstly present the definition of IPv6-based P2P botnets. And then we presents a model of IPv6based P2P botnet which named v6-Botnet.In This paper we describes the infrastructure, networking mechanisms, neighbor list mechanism and attacks mechanism of v6-Botnet.We specially designed the neighbor list algorithm as well as two-layer P2P network structure whicn apply to IPv6networks. This paper also introduce the design and implementation of P2P botnet experimental platform which base on the model of v6-Botnet. We also present related functions and performance indicators, as well as the final test procedures and test results, and analysis of the experimental platform.
