In many specific circumstances, data transmission needs to be independent from the public communication system. With the accelerating growth of the dedicated data transmission system’s business, the speed and capacity of the data transmission system faces more challenge. OFDM is widely used in all kinds of communication systems to improve the speed and combat multi-path fading. While the frame structure of the current system is in burst mode, the communication link between the transmitter and receiver exists for a long time during a communication process in some specific environment, so a system of continuous frame structure may be more efficient and adapt to these circumstances. In this article, the sample level processing part of an OFDM data transmission system using continuous frame structure is designed and implemented in FPGA using Verilog HDLThis article implements the whole sample process of the OFDM wireless data transmission system using the continuous frame structure. Upon describing the background and development of the current data transmission system, this article analyzes the parameter of OFDM technology and system requirements and gives the specific parameter of the system; meanwhile a total view of the system is given along with the compliance frame structure. The most important algorithm in the sample processing such as symbol synchronization, signal carrier synchronization, channel estimation and frequency-domain equalization algorithm are primarily researched; the performance and hardware expense of each algorithm are deeply analyzed, and for each module in the FPGA implementation, the appropriate algorithm structure is chosen to adapt to the continuous frame structure and FPGA. All these modules are implemented on ISE FPGA platform of Xilinx, and generality of each functional module is given priority to. This article uses Matlab as the simulation platform.The result of the RTL level implement and test shows that the implementation and hardware expense of each module meet the need of the design, and lay the root for the complete OFDM system using continuous frame structure.
