Design And Implementationof Network Quality Monitoring System Based On Application Layer

With the rapid development of the Internet and Mobile Internet, network traffic is growing and different requirements for network are increasing, how to monitor and manage the network and to ensure the network quality of application services have attract many researchers in the field of computer networks. Most of the researches in network quality are focused on network layer and transport layer before. Only a little attention was paid to application layer.At the same time, a variety of application-layer applications are emerging, and old applications are upgrading tonew version, demands for network quality of application layer are sure to increase in the future. Current quality monitoring system has been unable to meet these demands.This paper mainly studies the network quality monitoring on application layer. It analyzes the indicators of application layer quality monitoring system, designs and implements three different monitoring methods. It expounds the principle and advantages and disadvantages of each method. At last, it comes out with an effective solution to analyze monitoring results. In this paper, the main work is as follows:1. It proposed an index system for network quality monitoring based on application layer:after studying theories of various application layer protocols and learning on what users concern about network quality, it concludes an index system for network quality monitoring which is mainly focused on hypertext transfer protocol.2. Designed and implemented network quality monitoring system on application layer:Firstly, build the infrastructure of monitoring system using technologies includes Nginx and Python. Secondly, it designed and implemented three different kinds of application layer network quality monitoring method based on the infrastructure. And it then compared three methods with each other and introduced the scenarios they are suitable for.3. Studied and implemented a set of algorithms to calculate network quality using monitoring data:after doing researches on popular network quality analysis methods, it draws on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation theory and analytic hierarchy process, and made appropriate improvements, and ultimately it creates a feasible computing network quality assessment method to "facilitate comparison of network quality both horizontally and vertically.
