Parameter estimation for wireless channels is an important aspect in modern wireless technologies. It is a new technique developed in the past decades based on time-domain spectrum estimation and array signal processing, and its main goal is to investigate various algorithms that are both highly accurate and fast. This technique has been widely applied in communications, radar, etc., and has drawn significant attention due to its broad applications.In recent years, the parameter estimation technique for broadband wireless channels has had great achievements, and its theories are being perfected. This paper, based on various researches home and abroad, develops an algorithm for estimating2D DOAs of broadband signals using a UCA.Firstly, we make the comparison between time-domain processing and space-domain processing for wireless signals. Secondly, we give mathematical models of the space-domain processing technique, i.e. array signal processing technique, including the narrow-band model as well as the broad-band model. Lastly, we develop the DOA-estimation algorithm for broadband signals using a UCA and then simulate the result with Matlab.
