Self-organized networks, which is also called Ad hoc, is a kind of wireless communication networks that is infrastructureless, build by self-organization method and supplement of infrastructure-based networks. Self-organized networks have features of self-organization, dynamic topology, distributed operation, muiti-hop, etc. Though limitation on channel capacity, security and terminal capabilities, it’s used in areas like military communications, emergency communications, personal communications, sensor networks, distributed applications, hybrid wireless networks and extension access of cellular network widely.Power control technique is one of the key technology and research hotspots of self-organized networks. It’s important to research and implement power control techniques in self-organized networks in that some applications put forward requirements in energy saving, real-time communication, topology stabilization, network throughput. Since concept of self-organized networks arose, researchers have proposed many power control techniques, and this thesis has innovative works in two aspects based on broadly researching:1. Focus research of power control techniques based on link loss estimation algorithm. Proposed a Node-Pair Transmit Power strategy as improvement of Universal Transmit Power and Group Transmit Power strategies. Performance comparison of the three strategies in reducing average node transmit power, improving average throughput, reducing average end-to-end delay on Matlab simulation platform, then proposed strategy is proved superior.2. Programming of the Node-Pair Transmit Power strategy and link loss estimation algorithm in the framework of Microchip Zigbee Pro stack software. Designed a smallest single-chip hardware system of network nodes, which supports Zigbee self-organized network protocol with power control ability. Combination testing of software and hardware to verify the Node-Pair Transmit Power strategy function, so that achievements of this research can be applied to engineering practice.
