Under the same imaging condition,two sub-bands of the mid-wave infrared spectrum havea different degree with the influence of affect factors during their imaging because of differentwavelength ranges,and it makes the difference imaging characteristics which lead to a bigdiffer between their final image features.There are four parts included by this paper:1.Comparison has been made between two sub-bands of the mid-wave infrared spectrum onradiance transmission,environment influence,target radiation,detector response and othercharacteristics. The reason about how these differences was formed has been analysised,thenexpressions have been given.2.Comparison and analysis of categorized image features that is statistics,vision,exchangeand algebra features, has been made between two sub-bands images of the mid-wave infraredspectrum.Under different conditions,conclusion has been made with the particularity of theimage features differences between this two sub-bands of the mid-wave infrared spectrum forproviding basis and foundation of the relationship description between image featuresdifferences and imaging characteristics differences.By Combining the conclusion has beengiven,features which have differences has been chosen for the image features differences setbuilding.3.Deduction for imaging evolution models has been done by separation of variable forgetting change rules of gray scale and target-background contrast degree changed withdifferent affect factors,that is temperature,emissivity,transmittance and so on,and theapproximate function relationships and simulation curves have been got in order to get therelationship description between image features differences and imaging characteristics differences in the two sub-bands of the mid-wave infrared spectrum for next step.Then,thedescription has been made for definiting its forming mechanism of image features differences.4.By improving the exist fusion methods in consideration of imaging characteristicsdifferences,a dual-color mid-wave infrared images fusion method based on the formingmechanism of image features differences has being obtained,then experiment and evaluationhas been done for verifying the effectiveness of fusion madel.
