From the beginning of the fifties of the last century, infrared detection technology hasappeared in the sight of people. After this, the infrared detection technology has achievedgreat progress in the several decades, which has penetrated into all aspects of national life.The Pyroelectric Infrared (PIR) detector is as a branch of infrared detection, which isloved by the people because of its favorable concealment, higher price performance, steadyperformance and excellent environmental adaptability. What’s more, as a detector model, thecompound eye is provided with the advantages of large field-of-view, small volume and highsensitivity. Therefore, this project will combine the advantages of two detector models todesign a compound eye model based on Pyroelectric Infrared detector. The compound eye isarrayed by a large number of monoculars that are in a certain order and angle, so the topic isdivided into two parts: one is the design of monocular and the other is the design ofcompound eye. This paper is aimed to complete the design of monocular.The article determines the components and structures of the monocular by studying thestructure and principle of Pyroelectric Infrared detector. Then, it also explains the role of eachpart. This paper chooses lithium tantalate thin film that has a better overall performance asthe thermal element through comparing the advantages and disadvantages of variouspyroelectric materials; In order to select the appropriate Fresnel lens, the article studies thetheory and method of Fresnel lens in detail to realize the mathematical ranges of focal length,caliber of Fresnel lens and the calculation of sharp edge angle, finally, it determines themodel of Fresnel lens according to the ranges; The paper selects the method of bond-thinningto prepare the lithium tantalate film after studying several mature molding technologies.At the end, for the purpose of the verification of the effect of the design, the paperdesigns a alarm circuit to test whether the monocular can induce the infrared radiation andwhether it can convert optical signal into electrical signal. The result of test shows that when there are goals (such as people) illegal entry in15meters (less then15meters), the alarmcircuit can send an alarm signal, meanwhile, using an oscilloscope to monitor, it can showpulse signals, and the performance parameters of monocular also meet the requirementthrough professional testing. In summary, these results prove that the design of monocularbased on Pyroelectric Infrared detector is applied.
