Technology Prospecting Analysis Based On Patent Mining

Analyzing the development trend of high-tech and enhancing the capability of sustainable innovation in high-tech enterprises guarantees the sustainable development of enterprises. And doing research for the technique development trend helps enhangcing the understanding to technical innovation for enterprises. The fundamental driving force of technical innovation lies in bringing the core competitiveness to enterprises. Most of the existing researches evaluate the innovation capability of the enterprise by counting and analyzing the patent data that the enterprise applied.Patents are an important indicator of measuring the sustainable innovation capability of the enterprise. The patent data is informative, and shows a rapid growth trend yearly. Patent documents include abstract, technical background and statements and other rich information. Mining of the patent content has been a hot issue in the field of text mining. In recent years, the relevant top international conferences have involved. In this paper, we use the topic model for mining the content of the patent and finding the technical development trend in the patent.The topic model is a model of mining the topic hiding in the document. In recent years, various of application depending on the topic model have appeared. In this paper, first we present PWs analysis model by analyzing patent data format. This model mainly dig out all kinds of content and the probability distribution of technical topics by analyzing the messages of the owner of the patent (high-tech enterprise generally) and the address of the enterprise and the content of the patent. Next we collect the keyword entry of emerging techniques by analyzing the technique maturity curve. In this paper, we work out the correlation between the probability distribution of patent technical topic and the emerging technique document. Finally, we work out the indicator sequence for measuring the capability of sustainable innovation for enterprises by a method of information entropy. Then the status of the capability of sustainable innovation for enterprises is obtained by analyzing the indicator sequence.By analyzing patent data from the U.S. Patent Office publicly released, we do the experimental verification. And by the analysis of experimental results and examples, we verify the validity of the method proposed in this paper.
