Routing protocol is a data translation process from source to target in the wireless sensor network, the biggest limitation of which is energy and communication range. By merging energy and location aware based routing algorithm with the Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm, we focused on the algorithm optimization in the aspects of time delay reduction, improvement of energy balance and routing success ratio. In this paper, we mainly discuss and research on four parts listed as below:1、On the basis of Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm, we imitate the mechanism of fruit fly’s forage to establish the WSN-FOA Algorithm, by designing the "Taste Concentration Determination" with consideration of energy and position factors.2、Using the Front Neighborhood Area to reduce time delay and network total energy consumption. For the routing holes problem, design an efficient routing hole backspacing mechanism to improve the routing success ratio.3、Simulate WSN-FOA protocol on the OMNeT++simulation platform to verify its feasibility. By changing the experimental parameters, analyze and come to a conclusion with the application area of WSN-FOA protocol. Make comparisons between GEAR protocol and the WSN-FOA protocol on five aspects:transmission delay, network node energy consumption and energy balance, network lifetime and the routing success ratio.
