In recent years, the Acoustic source localization with microphone arrays is widely used in industrial field noise positioning, helicopter detection system, military experiments, the point of impact measurement in the monitoring system. However, the Acoustic source algorithms need a great number of calculations. The localization accuracy has to be sacrificed in order to realize real-time applications. Aiming at these difficulties, several algorithms based on microphone array are discussed in this paper. And some improved algorithms are put forward based on the traditional algorithms. The improved algorithms reduce the computing time and improve the localization accuracy andreal-time performance.A real time multi-Channel acoustic acquisition system is designed and a hardware platform is also established for the analysis and research of acoustic processing algorithm a detailed study algorithms on time delay estimation are researched. especially the theory of GCC method, what is more, the traditional method of generalized cross-correlation was developed, sepecifically usefulless to background noise and room reverberation alimination, and the results of conlputer simulation shows that the method developed outperforms the traditional method. The LMS and for a variety of characteristics of the weighting function, respectively, in the MATLAB environment presented and analyzed in the simulation and simulation, and the shortcomings of the traditional generalized cross-correlation algorithm, the improved algorithm on the hardware platform and the CCS environment simulation testing, validating the feasibility of the algorithm, field environment, system simulation test results.In the array layout, deducing the formula of geometric localization based on time delay estimation, their direction anddistant accuracy are analyzed and improved in detail. Finally, a practical based on the generalized cross the sound source localization method, the simulation results show that the improved generalized cross-correlation method has good performance, could be considered for use in practice.
