IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) uses single-path transmission mode which totally depends on the bearer network to transport media. Although it can easily ensure the transmission quality of service (QoS), but the overall efficiency of network transmission is low. There are many problems, for example, network traffic and load concentration, scheduling difficulties of network resource and so on, which are difficult to effectively support media content distribution, and severely restrict the IMS application development and business innovation. That building real-time media multipath transmission model based on overlay network of application-layer routing is an important way to upgrade the IMS media transmission technology. Different from Internet P2P network, not only the efficiency of network resources are enhanced, but also IMS signaling interaction and QoS policies are supported and many other issues in IMS overlay network model for media content distribution in. At present, there is no mature solutionOn the foundation of numerous references on IMS, P2P and CDN technology, combined with the media content distribution demand characteristics, the thesis deeply studies about building overlay network model based on the application layer routing. The main studies include:1) The thesis puts forward a hierarchical domain IMS overlay network model based on the improved Chord protocol. On the base of the introducing CDN technology into the P2P overlay network, the thesis defines related network topology and node behavior, puts forwarda hierarchical domain resource-location method based on the Chord protocol, and deeply discusses the media content distribution process of the model.2) On the basis of the above studies, a manageable and controllable P4P overlay network model based on Chord is proposed, which supports the IMS signal interaction. By improving the P4P framework and integrating the improved Chord algorithm with P4P system, the author designs the improved P4P network query principle, and search processes and control mechanisms of appTracker-based and appTracker-less.3) Studying the overlay network simulation method, establishing related network simulation system based on the OMNeT++simulation platform and OverSim framework, and verifying the target model.The thesis builds the IMS overlay network model for media content distribution through the Internet P2P technology mainly, key consideration in the network model design support the integration of IMS signaling system interaction and control characteristics of the network model. The experiments show that the target network model can support the IMS media content, the P2P model distribution to achieve the expected goal of this study.
