The Design And Implementation Of The Server’s Incremental Update Of The TM Anti-Virus Software

Any individual, team or company can not make a perfect software product and every software product will have many bugs when it is released. Ant-virus software is the protection of your computer, and it prevents your computer from being spoiled by the virus.Thus for the software products, especially for the anti-virus software, update your software in real-time is very important. Internet root server for TM anti-virus software is provided by a Internet server provider in accordance with the traffic accounting. So saving the traffic is saving money. This article specifically discusses how to save traffic when you update your server.This paper’s work includes:(1) First inter-process communication and dynamic link libraries are reviewed and studied. And then we study the update technology about two different anti-virus software u: Panda Internet Security update technology and Kaspersky Internet Security update technology.(2) In this paper, for the unique physical deployment characteristics of the TM anti-virus software update system,by analyzing and comparing the existing update method of TM anti-virus software, present a new update method-Incremental update of the server.This method updates the server using the incremental file and the new full package is merged in local side and the builds all the incremental files we need in local side with RTPatch.This method adds a new module-AustorageManager and this module is used to configer the local stored out-of-date full package files.And using these out-of-date files,we can build incremental files to provided to the users.(3)This method can reduce the traffic rapidly without much disk space and CPU resources.This article aims to apply the incremental update technology into the server side of the TM anti-virus software to make the server’s update rapidly and reduce it’s traffic.
