IoT is an important part of the new generation of information technology. It’s regarded as the extension of the application of the Internet. Widely considered, IoT is the Internet of connected things. This contains two meanings:firstly, the core and foundation of IoT is still the Internet and IoT is the extension and expansion on the basis of the Internet; secondly, in IoT, the terminals have extended to all kinds of different objects and the information exchange and communication are needed between different objects or between objects and people. The ultimate goal of IoT is to realize the networking of objects and people connected to the Internet, and finally make the identification, management and control easily.In IoT research, due to the heterogeneity of the terminals, the primary problem is terminal access. Therefore, how to access all kinds of heterogeneous terminals universally becomes the most basic and important problem in IoT.In this paper, an architecture of access part of an IoT platform including the method for terminal access in the architecture is designed, which can make the multi terminals be convenient and be able to access quickly. The details are as follows:Architecture of access part of IoT platform. In this paper, based on the fourth layer architecture of IoT system, an architecture of access part is designed. All subsequent work is carried out in this architecture.The unified resource description of IoT terminals. The terminals of IoT are various. In order to realize the reasonable access of IoT terminals, a unified resource description is needed from the level of shielding terminal difference in description. In this paper, through distinguishing and uniform designing the attributes, status, historical information of terminals, different kinds of terminals are shielded and unified description works.Message flow and frame when terminals access into the platform. In IoT, the message flow and frame of any type of terminals should be the same. In this paper, based on the unified resource description of IoT terminals, a complete message flow and frame is designed, with which all kinds of heterogeneous terminals could be connected to the IoT platform.The unified terminal serial number of IoT. The IoT terminals are numerous and diverse, as a result, the serial number does not have a unified standard. In this paper, a unified terminal serial number generation method is used. When a new terminal is accessing to the platform, the method could generate a unique serial number. When the communication between platform and terminal is occurred, this unique serial number is the only identity of the terminal. Finally, it makes the platform convenient for terminal management, sensing and control.
