With the development of modern network, in order to improve working efficiency and to standardize process management, requirements for timed tasks are constantly emerging. The characteristics of these tasks is executed repeatedly and regularly. If completed artificially, it’s very difficult and not safe. Timed task scheduling is born at the right moment, and the article is just around this subject.The experimental platform of this article is BI-PaaS (Business Intelligence, Platform as a Service), which is a business intelligence information analysis platform based on cloud computing. The platform allows users to build BI applications quickly, with which to do huge amounts of information analysis. In order to improve work efficiency and satisfy current requirement for timed task, hosting the BI applications for timed task scheduling is one of the subsequent key research directions. Beyond that, how to integrate the timed task scheduling system and the pre-existing workflow system, coupled with dispatching the scheduling results to users of the platform, has become the key issues of urgent need at present. Driven by the demands above, the paper puts forward a optimal scheduling solution for BI applications that is most applicable to the platform, which is mainly based on a timed scheduling framework called Quartz.The paper mainly covers the following aspects:First of all, demand analysis of the scheduling solution for BI application on BI-PaaS, which mainly includes the functional requirements and non-functional requirements.Second, research and design of the overall scheduling solution, which mainly includes research and design of resolutions on the timed scheduling module and the dispatching module.Third, design and implementation of the timed scheduling module, which mainly includes study and comparison of different implementation method on timed scheduler, study and implementation of the persistent storage mechanism, study and implementation of the solution for multi-tenancy isolation, and the solution of interface unification for workflow engine on the platform.Finally, design and implementation of the dispatching module, which mainly includes study of the dispatching solution, and implementation of the dispatching module.
